Sickle Cell Foundation Annual Giving Campaign
Greetings,
I am Tabatha McGee, Executive Director of the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia Inc. We are a 501(3)c community-based organization celebrating 52 years (1971-2023) with our mission being to engage, educate and energize the community to improve the quality of life for Georgians living with sickle cell disease, and provide direct and supportive services around the State of Georgia from strategically located offices in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah, Georgia.
Each year, the Foundation hosts several community events designed to increase disease awareness, and to foster corporate partnerships that encourages participation in the fight against this childhood, inherited blood disorder, affecting 1 of nearly 13,000 residents in the State of Georgia. During 2022, the Foundation serviced 1,917 individuals, from 105 counties, and trained 103 healthcare providers on evidence-based treatments for the management of sickle cell disease through continuing medical education credits. We also provided specialty care to 226 patients across the State, utilizing a mobile health unit in partnership with local sickle cell disease organizations and using shared space in Federally Qualified Health Centers.
I'm encouraging you as a supporter to make your donation today. Every bit counts toward our Annual Goal and makes a difference.
We thank you for your support.
Tabatha McGee, Executive Director
